Our Mission
Crossing the Digital Divide is a non-profit organization with a very specific goal; to close the gap between the haves and the have-nots by bringing technology to the most vulnerable and "in need" of our society, people in recovery.
CDD Reaches Ninth Year
I believe I am speaking for all three of CDD's Founding Members (Xavier Nathan; Dr. Clark Feldman and Kathleen Patton) when I say how proud I am to reach our ninth year of training. We never could have dreamed of reaching this point in 2004. Our concerns at that time were wondering whether the students would benefit from the training while facing their problems with addiction. Whether the centers would be willing to devote time and space to the program. Whether an all-volunteer staff would be manageable and whether the community would support our overall mission. We can now smile at these seemingly simplistic questions and answer with a resounding "yes"!
This year CDD added nearly 100 Graduates to our total bringing the new Grand Total to 1184. These Graduates are comprised of adults from all backgrounds in our society. Some are young men and women have had become caught-up in the "gang" culture at an early age. They lost their freedom and are now trying to re-enter. Other students are mature adults who have been away from free society for even longer periods. These students all face the same struggle to re-enter the job market without even the most basic skills. The CDD Computer class has been vital to their success.
We offer a variety of items, from t-shirts to coffee mugs with the CDD logo. We also offer items with a photo of the original painting by
